After scoring three excellent goals against Preston North End on Saturday, Brig carried that attacking momentum into the early stages of what was the first game at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium for 259 days.
Ryan White was brought down in the penalty area with just two minutes on the clock, Wilson stepping up and placing his spot kick into the bottom left corner of the net.
The Brig captain then connected with an overhead kick from a subsequent corner which curled wide of the post.
On 29 minutes, Mark Yeates fired in a fierce effort from long distance that Matt Urwin was able to get in front of, before new Brig signing Cameron Gourley put in a vital block at the other end to deny Willem Tomlinson.
The visitors equalised three minutes short of half-time, Connor Hall cutting in from the right before his left-footed drive found the net.
Chorley then had several chances early on in the half, before Brig substitute Jamie Thomas forced a good stop out of the visiting goalkeeper from range.
Yeates then saw another long distance effort go narrowly over the bar, before Andy Owens shot over from close range.
The last chance of the game fell to the visitors. A goalmouth scramble eventually saw Roccia dive at the feet of a Chorley player and safely claim the ball before clearing up field.
The game ended 1-1, a fair result on the balance of play in a match in which both sides created plenty of openings.
